The Supper Table

I love Duccio di buoninsegna painting of the Last Supper. To me it's more of an reality, because when we sit as a community, we do gather around the table and engage in a more informal setting.

The Leonard Di Vinci portrays more of a hierarchy image, where everyone is center towards Jesus and the portrait promotes speculation. This image provide the observer a feel for community, as Jesus Christ looks on and engage in the variety of conversations that is center around him.

Also, as I look at my own supper table, I immediately go and clear the table top from piles of paper and replace with a wicker basket in the center. It reminds me of the past, when the apostles had the opportunity of a lifetime to have Jesus Christ in their mist and for me, hope.
